Solar dos Lobos Grande Escolha

Grape Varieties: Alicante Bouschet (55%), Touriga Nacional (15%), Syrah (15%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%)

Tasting notes: Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, resulting in a full-bodied wine with intense fruit aroma. Well integrated wood notes. The flavour is long and persistent, with soft balanced tannins. Should be opened and decanted some time before serving.

Gastronomy: Perfect with game and grilled meats.

Awards: On 26 November, in a tasting of wines from over 77 countries at the Interwine China Wine Challenge 2009, Solar dos Lobos Grande Escolha 2007 was awarded a coveted Gold Medal. In the same competition, this limited edition Alentejo wine, produced by Mr Antonio Lobo, went on to win the accolade of “Best Wine” of the whole competition.
