Vinho Verde - Alvarinho

Quintas de Melgaço is situated in Melgaço, Portugal’s northernmost municipality. It was created to ensure that Alvarinho wines remain forever unique. The company incorporates vineyards that have learned the art of cultivating Alvarinho grapes.

Four hundred and thirty producers have united to ensure that this art does justice to the Alvarinho grape, which can only grow in the region. This craft is exclusive to Quintas de Melgaço, and has made Alvarinho what it is today.

Quintas de Melgaço is a company from the region, built up in the region, and it could exist nowhere else.

Soc. Agricola Quinta do Mosteiro

The wine ‘Antonio Futuro’ is produced at Quinta do Mosteiro, located in the municipality of Amarante, a zone of excellence in the demarcated region of Vinho Verde.

Quinta do Mosteiro, which includes the former Monastery of Travanca founded in the XII century and one of the most beautiful and important examples of Romanesque architecture in northern Portugal, has an area which spans around 12 ha. It is spread over terraces and protected platforms, which together with its excellent sun exposure, is able to achieve a high and uniform maturation for the grapes.

The vineyards of Quinta do Mosteiro are composed of traditional Vinho Verde grape varieties, with predominance of Arinto, and to a lesser extent Trajadura and Azal.

Quinta do Mosteiro has been in the Antonio Futuro family for three generations. Antonio Ribeiro Futuro da Silva is the original creator of ‘Antonio Futuro’ wines, which is named after him.
